While the process differs a bit from iOS, we do have 2 ways to create and log custom meals on Android.
Creating a Custom Meal with Multiple Servings
This method requires you to manually add up the calories of the ingredients in your meal, so we recommend that you search for the individual ingredients in the app, write down the total calories per ingredient, and calculate the total calories for the meal before proceeding with the steps below.
To create a custom meal with multiple servings:
- Open the Noom app and tap the Log Your Meals task card on the home screen OR tap the Track More Habits menu on the home screen and then tap Meals.
- Select your meal type (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack).
- Scroll to the bottom of the food list shown and tap + Can’t find it? Let’s add it!
- Enter the name of your meal.
- Tap Calories if you have any and add the total number of calories for the meal.
- Tap Log in the top right corner of the screen.
- Tap Skip on the pop-up asking you to add more details.
- Tap Done in the top right corner of the screen.
- Tap the name of your meal, select Servings or Calories as your unit of measure, and adjust the serving size.
- Tap the checkmark to save your changes.
- Tap Done.
- Tap More in the top left corner of the Meal Analysis screen.
- Tap Add to Saved Meals to save this custom meal.
- Give the meal a name and tap Save.
- Tap Close on the Meal Analysis screen.
The meal is now saved in the My Meals section so you can quickly log it again without having to recreate the custom meal.
Please note that only calories are recorded for custom meals created using this method, so you won’t see a green, yellow, or orange food color on your meal or any analysis. However, the calories will be deducted from your overall calorie budget accurately as long as you entered the calories correctly in step 5.
Creating a Single-Serving Custom Meal
This method allows you to log individual ingredients and then label that set of ingredients as a custom meal. While you can’t edit the serving size, you can see a full analysis on the Meal Analysis screen, including a green, yellow, and orange food color breakdown.
To create a single-serving custom meal:
- Open the Noom app and tap the Log Your Meals task card on the home screen OR tap the Track More Habits menu on the home screen and then tap Meals.
- Select your meal type (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack).
- Search for your first ingredient, and select the amount from the predefined list, or tap Other Units to select a custom amount. Continue this process until you’ve entered all your ingredients.
- Tap Done in the top right corner of the screen when you’re done logging all ingredients for that meal.
- Tap the Done button.
