GLP-1 Companion

Overview

The GLP-1 Companion is designed to help those who are taking GLP-1 medications get guidance on how to set themselves up for success, overcome common challenges surrounding GLP-1s, receive guidance on protein, and includes an updated food color system. This optional and free program is offered during the Noom Weight signup process to those who specify that they’re taking GLP-1 medications and in-app after signup.

Key Features of the GLP-1 Companion

After activating the GLP-1 Companion, you’ll have access to:

  • Protein Power features in-app that include a protein bar on the home screen, macros data at the end of each meal log, and an updated food color system. 
  • Muscle Defense library of selected fitness videos from FitOn, focusing on preventing muscle loss.

You’ll also have access to content in the curriculum and in the module library that’s tailored to help set you up for success on your journey. This includes:

  • A module on the importance of core behavioral change tenets, including nutrition, staying active, and healthy habits.
  • A module on common challenges while on these medications.
  • A module introducing weight loss medications and what to expect while taking them. 

GLP-1 Companion Availability

You may have access to the GLP-1 Companion, provided that you meet the following requirements:

  • Enrolled in the English version of Noom Weight
  • iOS or Android
  • Have the most recent version of the app installed
  • Located in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or the United States

How to Add the GLP-1 Companion During Signup

When signing up for the Noom Weight program, you’ll be asked if you’re currently taking a GLP-1 medication to help you with weight loss. Provided that you respond Yes to this question, it will automatically be added to your Noom Weight program at no additional cost (you can remove this on the checkout screen if you change your mind).

How to Add the GLP-1 Companion After Signup

If you already have a Noom Weight subscription, you may be eligible to add the GLP-1 Companion. To see if this option is available, please download the most recent version of the Noom app. If the option is available, you’ll see one of the following:

  • In-App Notification Card
  • In-App GLP-1 Companion Toggle

In-App Notification Card

If you didn’t opt in to the GLP-1 Companion during signup, you may see notification cards asking if you want to learn more about the free GLP-1 Companion.

  1. Open Noom and tap Learn More on the notification card at the top of the home screen
  2. Tap Go to Settings on the next notification card that pops up
  3. Scroll down to Curriculum and toggle On the GLP-1 Companion 
  4. Select the GLP-1 medication(s) you currently take and tap Next
  5. Select any side effects you experience from GLP-1 medications and tap Done 

Toggle On the GLP-1 Companion In-App

If you don’t see the notification card, you can toggle on the GLP-1 Companion in the app settings.

Toggle GLP-1 Companion On – iOS

  1. Open Noom and tap the hamburger menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner of the screen 
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Scroll down to Curriculum and toggle On the GLP-1 Companion 
  4. Select the GLP-1 medication(s) you currently take and tap Next
  5. Select any side effects you experience from GLP-1 medications and tap Done 

Toggle GLP-1 Companion On – Android

  1. Open Noom and tap the hamburger menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner of the screen 
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Tap GLP-1 Companion
  4. Toggle On the GLP-1 Companion
  5. Select the GLP-1 medication(s) you currently take and tap Next
  6. Select any side effects you experience from GLP-1 medications and tap Done 

Toggle Off the GLP-1 Companion In-App

You can toggle the GLP-1 Companion off at any time in the Noom app settings.

Toggle GLP-1 Companion Off – iOS

  1. Open Noom and tap the hamburger menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner of the screen 
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Scroll down to Curriculum and toggle Off the GLP-1 Companion 
  4. Confirm you want to turn off the GLP-1 Companion by tapping Turn Off

Toggle GLP-1 Companion Off – Android

To turn the GLP-1 Companion off:

  1. Open Noom and tap the hamburger menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner of the screen
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Tap GLP-1 Companion
  4. Toggle On the GLP-1 Companion
  5. Confirm you want to turn off the GLP-1 Companion by tapping Turn Off

Changes When Turning Off the GLP-1 Companion

Please be aware of the following when turning off the GLP-1 Companion:

  • The food color system will revert to a version with less focus on protein. 
  • The protein and macros bar will be hidden from the Food Features and Home Screen.
  • The GLP-1 Companion mini-courses will still be available in the Library.
