When Christine’s insurance offered her the opportunity to participate in Noom’s Diabetes Prevention Program, she jumped on it! She knew she needed to lose weight and take her health into her own hands.

Christine had tried losing weight in the past but she would listen to the messages she was receiving for society. She would try whatever she read, with no success.

Looking back on her experience, Christine recognizes that never learned how to make healthy choices. Noom was different. Noom helped her understand the components of a healthy diet, how to read nutrition facts labels, calorie density, and so much more. And best of all, everything was all in one place.

Christine loved using Noom’s color system as a guide to make healthier food choices every day. Learning about calorie density helped her understand how she could fill most of her plate with nutrient-dense, weight loss-friendly foods, while still enjoying some of her favorite treats and reach her health goals.

When Noom challenged her to work up to 150 minutes of exercise each week, Christine rose to the occasion. She makes movement a priority every day — whether that’s walking around in her neighborhood or hitting up the hotel gym when she’s travelling.

I thank Noom for teaching me about food and how to make healthy choices and showing me the value of consistent exercise! I have learned more than I ever thought I could about food and exercise.

Christine loved having the constant guidance and expertise of her Goal Specialist and Group Coach, as well as the support and encouragement of a group peers on a similar journey. Check-ins with her Goal specialist helped her learn new things each week — from how to set tangible, realistic goals, to reading understanding nutrition facts and ingredient labels. Her Group Coach and group helped her stay accountable and inspired every single day.

Reflecting on the past nine months, the entire experience still feels surreal.

This is the biggest thing that has happened to me in recent years! I’ve lost over 50 pounds, I got down to below my goal — it was so sudden, I couldn’t believe it, especially after having been discouraged about a plateau that plagued me for a couple of weeks, at least. All of a sudden, the plateau disappeared, just as my coach said it would, and bingo!

In addition to losing over 50 pounds, Christine feels like a whole new person — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

My life has completely changed! My friends cannot believe it’s me, for one. My face has gotten thinner, rings are falling off my fingers, and I’ve been able to treat myself to a new wardrobe, giving loads of larger clothes away to a worthy cause here. I feel much better about myself too. I have far much more energy and my recent blood work showed me in the healthy levels for everything — everything! I usually have borderline things in years past, this is the first year I’ve had nothing but good, good, good results.

Christine is also excited about the future and feeling optimistic about the road ahead.

I haven’t starved myself. It’s taken a long time to take off all the weight, and with an investment like that, I know I will continue to watch what I eat. And, when I go overboard, I’ll be able to bounce back to normal quickly. I see this as a forever thing — not temporary at all!
